Mercy Health – Anderson HealthPlex Sea School intensive lessons provide a safe and fun environment for children to explore and learn. Intensive lessons pack five lessons into just one week allowing kids to retain skills and advance more quickly. Through structured lessons and guided play, children learn that they can accomplish great things with confidence and positive self-esteem.
Session 1: February 17–21
Session 2: February 24–28
Classes meet Monday through Friday, 6:00-6:40 pm. There are no make-up classes.
Cost Per Session: $75 Members, $100 Non-members
Registration and Placement Dates:
Saturday, January 18, 10-11 am
Sunday, January 26, 11-12 am
Saturday, February 8, 10-11 am
Saturday, February 15, 11-12 pm
Your child must attend a placement session prior to registering. Payment is required at time of registration.
Preschool • Ages 3-5
Sea Star (Beginner)
Beginner students start to get comfortable and confident in the water. They learn how to put their face in the water and blow bubbles from their nose. Freestyle, backstroke, and flip swimming are introduced.
Sea Horse (Intermediate)
Students are comfortable in the water and will learn to swim independently including blowing out from the nose and rolling to the back to take a breath. By the end of this level, students will jump into water over their head and swim back on their own.
Sea Turtle (Advanced)
Students can float independently and swim at least four body lengths with a breath of air included. Breaststroke, elementary backstroke and treading water are introduced.
School-Age • Ages 5+
Angel Fish (Beginner)
Beginner students start to get comfortable and confident in the water. They learn how to put their face in the water and blow bubbles from their nose. Freestyle, backstroke, and flip swimming are introduced.
Betta Fish (Intermediate)
Students are comfortable in the water and will learn to swim independently including blowing out from the nose and rolling to the back to take a breath. Breaststroke, elementary backstroke, whip kicks and dolphin kicks are introduced. By the end of this level, students will jump into water over their head and swim back on their own.
Clown Fish (Advanced)
Students work on the four competitive strokes through drills and instruction. By the end of this level, students have basic skills in competitive strokes and turns.
